In this mandatory assignment we were asked to create a website for a resturant by using html and css. We were encouraged to view a lot of learning videos if we were not familiar with website building from before. Through the weeks there were also a task to create an online domain.
The purpose of the website:
– Customers can use it to find information, book a table and see the menu.
– Customers can find contact info about catering and takeaways.
– Menu must function on various screen platforms = desktop, tablet, mobile.
– Well designed and appealing.
– Emphasis on idea, typography, aestetics and style.
For this assignment I chose to make a website for a sushi-resturant and wanted to make a user friendly 1 page menu to be able to finish the code and also making something that would work. We were handed no brand guidelines or design direction other than the information above, and therefore I decided to find a focus point on which type of sushi-resturant I wanted to present and which direction I wanted to go in this assignment.
1. Visitors: Male + Female 30 years old, scandinavian, couples, Females 40-50.
2. Actions from visitors: I want the visitors to be able to get a sense of what kind of resturant it is, find information that they need and have a look at the menu.
3. Features: Hero section, Call to action-button, Nav-bar, Images, Menu, Contact information.
4. Color preferences: Something that relates to sushi and the feel that I’m trying to deliver.
– Name: Yasuragi – means “peaceful” in Japanese.
– Logo: Sushi related, Japanese related, simple, uniqe, professional, brush stroke, clean, modern and geometric font.
– Website: Professional, Containing all points required from resturant, User friendly, Functionality, Simplicity, White space.
